A schematic drawing of the experimental protocol used to determine the effect of ischemic postconditioning (IPostC, 6 cycles of 10-s of reperfusion and 10-s re-occlusion, application after ischemia), and the effect of trimetazidine (TMZ, 3 mg/kg, i.p. injection 30-min before ischemia). Sham, sham-operated rats; I/R, rats were subjected to bilateral renal ischemia (60 min) followed by reperfusion (120 min).
