Effects of simvastatin treatment on HSA secretion into culture media from HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells were treated with 0, 1, and 5 μM simvastatin for 22 hours in RPMI media. Cells were incubated additional 2 hours with [³⁵S]-methionine/cysteine. Media was collected and the secreted HSA in the media was immunoprecipitated with a specific anti-HSA antibody followed by SDS-PAGE. Radioactive quantification of HSA bands was performed by liquid scintillation counting. Data are mean ± SD from three independent experiments performed in triplicate. *P < 0.05 vs. without simvastatin.
