The ΔygfZ and ΔsodA strains were transformed with pQE-sodA and pQE-ygfZ to express SodA and YgfZ, respectively, and the agar diffusion assay was performed similar to that described in legend to Fig. 1. Note: pQE60 was the vector used for expression construction.
