Figure 4From: The functional expression of extracellular calcium-sensing receptor in rat pulmonary artery smooth muscle cellsThe effects of different treatments on the vascular tension of the pulmonary arteries with increased [Ca2+] 0 . [Ca2+]o from 5 to 12.5 mM caused a vasoconstriction of the pulmonary arterys (P < 0.01 versus vehicle, n = 8). In the NiCl2 + CdCl2 pretreated groups, the vasoconstriction of the pulmonary arterys was attenuated, but it was higher than in the vehicle (P < 0.01 versus CaCl2 groups). In the NPS2390 pretreated groups, the vasoconstriction of the pulmonary arterys was also attenuated, but it was higher than in the vehicle (P < 0.01 versus CaCl2 groups). In the NPS2390 + NiCl2 + CdCl2 treated groups, the vasoconstriction of the pulmonary artery was significantly attenuated.Back to article page
