c1orf109 is involved in the regulation of cancer cell proliferation. (A) MDA-MB-231 cells were transiently transfected with c1orf109-siRNA and were subcultured for an additional 4 days. Cell proliferation was assessed by MTT assay. A non-targeting siRNA was used as a negative control. (B) Hs578T cells were stably transfected with pcDNA3.1/c1orf109 construct. Cell proliferation was assessed by colony forming assay, as described in the Methods section. A mock plasmid was used as a control. (C) The expression levels of PCNA and cyclinD1 were detected by western blotting. (D) Cell cycle was assessed by PI staining.
