Immunization scheme of candidate S-OIV H1N1 and avian H5N1 vaccine. BALB/c mice were immunized with different doses of the produced vaccine S-OIV H1N1 or NIBRG-14 H5N1. (A) PBS control, 0.001 μg, 0.01 μg, and 0.05 μg of S-OIV H1N1 or NIBRG-14 H5N1 vaccine; (B) PBS control, 0.01 μg, and 0.05 μg of S-OIV H1N1 or NIBRG-14 H5N1 with or without alum or MPLA adjuvant. About 3 weeks after immunization, the mice were challenged with 10⁶ TCID₅₀ of A/California/7/2009 H1N1 or 1000 TCID₅₀ NIBRG-14 H5N1.
