From: Involvement of STIM1 and Orai1 in EGF-mediated cell growth in retinal pigment epithelial cells
The inhibitor of SOC channels inhibited EGF-mediated cell proliferation and migration in ARPE-19 cells. (A) SOC influx evoked by 2 μM TG was suppressed by adding 100 μM 2-APB in ARPE-19 cells. (B) ARPE-19 cells were pre-treated with 100 μM 2-APB for 30 min and then were incubated with 25 ng/mL EGF for 48 h. WST-1 assay was used in this study. (C) ARPE-19 cells were pre-treated with 100 μM 2-APB for 30 min, and were stimulated by 25 ng/mL EGF for 24 h and 48 h. Wound healing assay was used in this study. (D) The quantitative analysis of Figure 4C showed the statistical significance of reduction in EGF-mediated cell migration by 2-APB at 24 h and 48 h (both *** p < 0.001).
