The gain-of-function of the new p53 variant in tumor cells. (A) H1299/vector and H1299/new p53 stable cell lines were treated with DMSO (control), Act D (30 nM), 5-Fu, etoposide or rapamycin for 48Â h. Protein and mRNA were extracted and analyzed by western blotting and RT-PCR, respectively. (B) H1299/vector and H1299/new p53 cells were infected with adenoviral p53 and control. After 24 and 48Â h, proteins were extracted and analyzed by western blotting analysis.
