Figure 5

Spatial expression of ASS-EGFP in the brain of a 4 week-old Tg(ASS-Ex3-EGFP)3G mouse. Representative micrographs are shown. The insert of each micrograph indicates the location in brain where the image was taken. The scale represents 500 μm. (A) Granule neurons and cells in the glomerular layer in both major olfactory bulb (MOB) and accessory olfactory bulb (AOB) exhibiting strong EGFP expression. (B) In the septum region, significant EGFP expression is found in septal nuclei, i.e., LSD, LSI and MS. (C) In the thalamus, neurons of habenular nuclei are expressing EGFP whereas no significant EGFP expression was found in other nuclei of thalamus. Relatively weak EGFP expression was detected in the hypothalamus region. (D) Cells of choroid plexus in the lateral ventricle (LV) and the dorsal third ventricle (D3V) and (E) that in the dorsal third ventricle (D3V) exhibiting strong EGFP expression. (F) At the level of brain stem and cerebellum, cells of choroid plexus in the 4th ventricle (4V) exhibited strong EGFP expression.
