Anterior muscle groups (anterior) include tibialis anterior, extensor halluces longus, and extensor digitorum longus. Lateral muscle groups (lateral) include peroneus longus and peroneus brevis. Deep posterior groups (deep posterior) include tibialis posterior and flexor digitorum longus. Superficial posterior groups (superficial posterior) include gastrocnemius and soleus. The tibial and fibular bones are marked as arrow and arrowhead, respectively
