ALDH2*2 knock-in mice show higher cytotoxicity to cisplatin treatment in the kidney compared to wild type mice. Wild type and ALDH2*2 knock-in mice were treated with cisplatin, euthanized in two days and kidney tissues were collected. Cells from whole cell homogenates (100 μg protein, each) were used and cell proliferation was measured using MTT assay (Figure 6). Results represent mean ± SEMs (*p < 0.05 vs. wild type (WT) control and **p < 0.05 vs. control ALDH2*2 knock-in mice (t-test), n = 7-8 each)
