E2-mediated inhibition of Sp1 increases lung cancer cell progression. A549 and E2-A549 cells with or without Sp1 overexpression or knockdown were used to study migration activity by a wound healing assay (A) and chamber assay (B), and to study the cancer stemness by sphere formation assay (C). A549-T24 cells with or without Sp1 overexpression were used to study the cancer stemness by sphere formation (D). The cytotoxicity of Taxol in E2-A549 (E) and A549-T24 (F) cells with or without overexpression or knockdown of Sp1 was studied by a cell counting assay. The results of three independent experiments were quantitated, and statistical analysis was performed with a t test; *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.005
