Efficacies of the K1 lyase and its mutants in protecting mice from high-dose K. pneumoniae infection. Three groups of mice, each containing five 5-week-old female BALB/cByl mice, were inoculated intraperitoneally with 8.0 × 107 CFUs of NTHU-K2044. After 30 min, the mice were administrated intraperitoneally with 25 µg of the wild-type or mutant K1 lyase, as indicated. The other two groups of mice were inoculated with NTHU-K2044 alone or phosphate-buffered saline as the negative and positive control, respectively. ***P < 0.005, due to log-rank test
