The delivery strategies for endolysins. Endolysins can be encapsulated in pH-sensitive liposomes (A), thermally triggered PNIPAM nanoparticles (B), chitosan nanoparticles (C), alginate hydrogel (D), and alginate-chitosan hydrogel (E). These nanoparticles and hydrogels can release endolysins at infection sites triggered by different circumstances and displayed lytic activity both in vitro and in vivo.
