Effects of simvastatin treatments on intracellular HSA synthesis in HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells were treated with 0, 1, and 5 μM simvastatin for 22 hours and further incubated with [³⁵S]-methionine. After incubation, cells were lysed with lysis buffer and the resulting cell lysates were subjected to immunoprecipitation. Cell lystaes were further analyzed by SDS-PAGE/Fluorography and radioactivity of HSA protein bands were quantified by liquid scintillation counting. Data are mean ± SD from three independent experiments performed in duplicate. *P < 0.05 vs. without simvastatin.
