Pretreatment with EPA or DHA prevents doxorubicin-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. H9C2 cells were treated as in Figure 4, then intracellular ROS levels were measured using H2DCF-DA dye and flow cytometry. The results are expressed as the mean ± S.D. for three separate experiments. *, ***: p <005 and p <0.005 compared to the untreated control, respectively; #, # #: p <0.05 and P <0.01 compared to doxorubicin treatment, respectively.
