Ethanol decreases cyclin D1 and phospho-Rb protein expression and alters cell cycle progression in basal progenitors. a Cell cycle analysis was performed on untreated and ethanol treated cell samples with propidium iodide staining. Results were analyzed by flow cytometry to determine the percentage of cells in each phase of the cell cycle. Statistical significance was obtained by two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Bonferroni post hoc tests. *p < 0.05 when compared with untreated control. b Cultured cells were treated with or without 4 mg/ml ETOH for 12 h.
