OSS induces a sustained phosphorylation of Smad2 in ECs plated on FN, whereas it only induces a transient phosphorylation of Smad2 in ECs plated on LM. ECs grown on FN (a) or LM (b) were kept under static conditions (C) or subjected to OSS (0.5 ± 4 dyn/cm2) for 1/6 h (10 min), 1/2 h (30 min), 1 h, 4 h, and 24 h. The phosphorylation of Smad2 was determined by using Western blot analysis. Data are means ± SEM from three independent experiments. *P < 0.05 vs. static control cells
