Hepcidin impact on interaction between apo-Tf and Heph. HEK 293 cells were used to determine the impact of hepcidin on apo-Tf and Heph interactions using PLA, reported as integrated density per cell in the field of view per image. Cells were co-incubated with apo-Tf and hepcidin for 10 min. The level of disrupted interaction was compared to a 0.25 μM apo-Tf and no hepcidin treatment control (A). Hepcidin has no impact on the interaction between apo-Tf and Heph at any apo-Tf concentrations (B–E) or at any hepcidin concentrations (G–J). n = 3 for all experiments, means of biological replicates ± SEM were evaluated for statistical significance using one- way ANOVA with Tukey’s post-test for significance
